Gleann Eallaigh Naomh Seosamh club notes w/c 16 May

Congratulations to the Senior Ladies squad of 2015 who were awarded Team of the Year in the Derry City and Strabane District Council sports awards hosted in the Everglades last week. Training continues on Thursday evening 6.30pm to 7.30pm for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls). More support is required from parents particularly with regard to the coaching of the U6s. The U10s have a blitz this Saturday; further details to be provided at training. Hard luck to the minor and under 14 girls who were defeated in last week’s fixtures. The minor girls will play Cooktown Fr. Rocks, this Saturday 21st May in Plumbridge at 5pm. There are no under 14 fixtures this week. The senior ladies take on St Macartan’s on Wednesday night, 18th May in Plumbridge at 7 pm. Training continues at usual on Friday night and Sunday. Hard luck to Ann McGarvery and Aoife McConnell who were part of the Tyrone minor panel who were unfortunately beaten by Armagh in the Ulster Final. The Club are organising a Monster Bingo Session in St Pat’s Hall Strabane on Friday 27th May at 9.00PM. There will be £3,500 in prizes and your support would be very welcome. Our Cairde Membership is continuing to grow and we would appeal to anyone who would still like to join to contact any Committee member as soon as possible. With our ambitious plans to acquire a new playing and training area for the benefit of all our youth within our community, we would urge all those Glenelly players, both past and present, parents, family members and supporters to support this very worthwhile venture. It’s only £10 per month after all! Just call with Joseph or Anne, and dont forget to bring your Bank details. As part of our Festival Festivities pencilled in for mid-July, we are urging anyone with ideas and who would like to help out in any way to contact any Committee member as soon as possible. Also, we are still looking for a few more volunteers to take part in our Jigs&Reels Extravaganza that will take place in Strabane on the weekend of 21st-22nd October. This will be a fun filled event that is open to everyone to participate- you dont have to be a member of Glenelly St Joseph’s to take part. So if you have always wanted to "strut your stuff" and you’ve just never been asked, well then please regard this as your formal invitation! Contact Lucy or Eunan immediately. We would like to congratulate Sean and Noel O’ Kane who were part of Donegal Ladies’ recent successful League Campaign. Maith sibh!
