Gleann Eallaigh Naomh Seosamh Notes w/c 22 February

Any remaining Last Man Standing money should be returned to sellers before Friday night. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates on the competition. Club membership will be collected this Friday night 8.30-9.30PM in the Clubrooms. This will be your last opportunity to register for the 2016 season. Please note that the areas in front of the goals and clubhouse should not be used during training as DIMAC are carrying out remedial works on the pitch surface which require time to recover. Unfavourable weather has unfortunately delayed this process. Consequently, in order to protect the newly laid turf in the penalty areas, we would ask managers of our under-age teams to try seek alternative venues for matches during the month of March. If this is not possible a Match timetable has been placed in the Clubrooms and we would ask that each manager fill in the necessary details immediately. It will also be the Managers’ responsibility to inform John Conway directly. A minimum of 72 hours’ notice is required in order to prepare the pitch. We would also request that Changing rooms are left in a neat and tidy condition after each use. As part of our Club Development plans, there will be a Cairde Ghleann Eallaigh Open Night in Plumbridge Hall on Friday 4th March 8.00 – 9.00PM. Please bring your bank details along on the evening. Light refreshments will be served. Watch Press and Club Website www.glenellygaa.com for further details. Our Biggest Loser Campaign continues on Tuesday nights at 7.30 to Plumbridge Hall. It’s an informative and social occasion and each night we intend to have a Speaker to keep us right for the weeks ahead! Congratulations to the Group who managed to lose a grand total of 23lbs (10.4kg) after week one. Keep up the good work! Our Fundraising Committee are seeking additional members. Anyone willing to help please contact Pearse O Kane or Damien Harkin immediately. The Club has very ambitious plans for 2016 and we need as many volunteers as possible to help us achieve these goals, so please be willing to lend a hand. The minor girls league got under way last week, unfortunately they were defeated by a very strong Errigal Ciaran side. Their next game will be away to St. Macartan’s on 8th March at 7 pm. Training continues this week for both minor and senior ladies on Wednesday evening at 8 pm. All players wishing to be part of either/both panels this year are asked to make an effort to attend. Yoga continues on a Friday evening at 7.30 pm in Gortin Hall. There will be Children’s Officer training in Garvaghey next Monday night, 29th Feb. Congratulations to Ann McGarvey and Aoife McConnell on being selected to play on the Tyrone minor panel and to Maria O’Hagan who has been selected for the under 16 panel. Basic Irish language classes continue on a Tuesday night at 8 pm in the clubrooms. The remainder of our 2016 Club Calendars are now on sale for £5 each in local outlets. Just a few left.
