The 2015 Rockin’ By The River Festival takes centre stage this week. The festival line-up is as follows: Wednesday 22nd July- Sperrin Ramble (6.30pm) in association with Aware Defeat Depression & Big Bingo (9pm) in the marquee. Thursday 23rd July- Hugo Duncan Roadshow (12.30-4.00pm), Treasure Hunt (7.30pm), Hip Hop for ages 4-8 and ages 8-14 in the Hall (7.00-8pm) and Ceili in the festival marquee (9pm). Friday 24th July- Jiving Extravaganza (9pm), Disco with DJ Chris and Johnny Brady Country Dance (11.30pm). Saturday 25th July- Vintage Day (11.30am) supporting Aware Defeat Depression, Disco with DJ Chris (10-11.30pm) and dancing to The Whistlin Donkeys (11.30pm). Sunday 26th July- Family Fun Day (12 noon) with live Pig Racing, Disco with DJ Chris and dancing to Justin McGurk & the Boogie Men (11.30pm). The Forms for the Pig Race have been released and we ask everyone to make a special effort to sell their few lines. The Club urgently requires funding at this time – this is our only major fund-raiser to date this year. Festival review meeting Monday 3rd August at 8pm. Anyone interested in helping with hospitality for this year’s festival is asked to get in touch with Dolores or Lucy asap. Gym will be closed the week of the festival and will open again Monday 27th July. There will be a thank you meal and drink at the marquee for all volunteers on Sunday night of the festival at 8pm. Rotas will be on the walls for the festival events and on social media. We would make a special appeal for volunteers to turn up on Monday morning to help with the clean-up. Ladies & Men’s committee meetings will be on the 10th August at 7pm & 8pm respectively. Congratulations to our 16 girls who got off to a winning start on Sunday. Well done to our Mothers and Others who had a successful outing at the weekend. Under 16 girls have a friendly in Strabane at 8pm on Wednesday this week. Ladies training 7.15pm on Thursday. Both Domhnaigh U16s have a home fixture against Kildress on Wednesday evening at 7.30pm. On Tuesday 28th July the U16s have an away fixture against Trillick. Training will resume on Thursday 30th July at 6.30pm for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. Well done to our U 8s who travelled to Garvaghey last Saturday (18 July) to take part in the blitz. As part of the Festival Fun Day there will be a blitz (boys) for the 7 – 10 year olds. Details of start time etc will be updated on the Club’s Facebook.
