Gleann Eallaigh Naomh Seosamh Club Notes w/c 15 June

The Seniors and Reserves have home fixtures against Fintona on Sunday. Senior game at 2.15pm, Reserve 3.45pm. Seniors drew with Brackaville last week while reserves lost out by a point. Senior ladies had a good win over Aghyaran at the weekend their and next match will be the weekend of 27th timing tbc. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30 for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. The U 8s next blitz is on Saturday 20 June; details of venue etc to be confirmed at training on Thursday. It is planned to have our 7-10 year olds play at the half time interval of the Men’s Senior Game on Sunday; children wishing to play to be at the clubrooms for 2.15pm. The U 10s played in their blitz last Saturday hosted by Glenelly. It was a great occasion with teams travelling from Cookstown, Tattyreagh, Kildress, Clan Na Gael, Drumquin, Gortin and Greencastle. Many thanks to all who helped make it a great success. Particular thanks to the referees, the videographer, the photographer and the parents for providing and organising the refreshments. Unfortunately the minors were defeated by a strong Aghyaran team in the Championship QF on Friday night. League quarter final away to Cookstown on Thursday night. Transport leaving changing rooms at 6.15pm. Would U-16 ladies please note change of time for training to begin this weekend in Plumbridge – Sunday 21st June at 6.00PM. Under 16’s girls league will begin on August 1st and we are still seeking coaches and managers to look after our U-12s and U-16s. Please contact Lucy immediately. The under-14 girls final will take place shortly. Anyone who wishes to erect bunting, decorate the gates etc. in preparation for this event is welcome to do so. In conjunction with our Festival launch in Leo’s on Monday night, we are launching our first major fund-raiser of the season. One of our main events on the Sunday Sports Day will be "Live Pig-Racing" so we are asking all club members to sell a few lines to ensure that this is a very successful venture. Anyone wishing to join our Glenelly GFC Fundraising Committee is very welcome to come to a short meeting in the Clubrooms on Sunday evening at 7.30PM. A Mini-Festival launch will take place 22nd June at 7.30pm in Leo’s, followed by a festival meeting.
