Gleann Eallaigh Naomh Seosamh club notes w/c 29 September

The U13 team defeated Brackaville in the Semi Final of the U13 League last Sunday evening. In a closely contested game Glenelly eventually emerged winners with a final score of Glenelly 5-11 Brackaville 5-5. The final is on Sunday at 5.45pm in Drumragh against Drumquin. Transport leaving the clubrooms at 4.45pm. Training for the U13 this week is on Wednesday evening at 7pm. The U16 Girls play Aghyaran this weekend in the Quarter Final of the Championship. Day and time of the fixture is yet to be confirmed. The Seniors and Reserves completed their league programme last Saturday. Thanks to the management and players for all their efforts throughout the year. Last Saturday Glenelly hosted the final U 8 Go-games blitz for 2014 with teams from Greencastle, Clan na Gael, Drumquin and Castlederg attending. Many thanks to all the teams and players for their participation and making it a success. Thanks also to the referees (Barry & Seamus) and parents who helped with the refreshments. The training is now finished for the U6s, U8s, U10s boys and girls. The Club would like to express thanks to all the children who attended training / blitzes throughout 2014 and also to the parents for assistance provided including the arranging of transport. The final batch of Draw Tickets have now been released to our Teams and all members are asked to make one last effort to sell their allocation. Only six weeks to go! Many thanks to those individual members who have volunteered to sell a small quota of tickets – your efforts are very much appreciated. If anyone feels that he/she would like to help sell a few tickets in order to improve facilities for our youth please, contact any member of our Draw Committee as soon as possible. There will be a Card Drive in Foncy and Sharon Mc Cullagh’s house on Friday 4th October at 8.30 PM. in aid of Club Funds. The 25 Card Drives recommence in the clubrooms on Saturday 11th October at 9.00PM. Everyone welcome. The Club would like to wish Shane Meehan the very best in the upcoming Junior County Final. Anyone who requires club gear should contact Catherine Conway asap. The order will be placed in mid-October ensuring delivery in time for Christmas. Well done to those who took part on ladies all Ireland 7s at weekend. Committee meetings take place on Monday 6th October at 7pm and 8pm. Festival committee needs new faces and volunteers willing to take festival forward beyond its 10th anniversary – meeting for interested parties Tuesday 14th October at 8pm. Anyone in possession of trophies are asked to return it on or before committee meetings on 6th October to allow engraving prior to dinner dance.
