Gleann Eallaigh Naomh Seosamh club notes w/c 07 July

The Glenelly Rockin By the River Festıval runs from 13th to 20th July 2014. The Festival starts with the Vintage Rally on Sunday 13th July. Entertainment by Leslie Matthews, Pam Campbell, Bernie & Patricia Maguire and Paul Orr of Downtown Radio with a live outside broadcast. On Monday 14th is a 6 mile Family Walk. Registration will take place from 6.30pm in the Car Park beside the Church at Bradkeel Road. Tuesday 15th is a Treasure Hunt. Registration will take place at the marquee from 6.30pm. Also on Tuesday. Kiddies disco runs from 8.00pm-9.30pm and the Teen Disco from 10.00pm- 12.00am. This is a fully supervised event with a mineral bar. Music by DJ Chris. On Wednesday 16th is Big Bingo. There is £4000 in prizes with the first number being called at 9.00pm. During the day on Thursday 17th Hugo Duncan will be broadcasting his BBC Radio Ulster show live from Marquee from 12.30pm. Afternoon tea is being served to senior citizens and everyone in the community is invited to attend. Thursday evening is the Variety Concert. Starting at 8.30pm. Headline act is Crystal Swing. Also appearing are Mick Flavin, Brendan Quinn, Mary Brines, Patricia & Bernie Maguire, and Off the Kuff Band. Friday 18th dancing to Jimmy Buckley and his band. Saturday 19th at night dancing to Chasin’ Hooley and The Whistlin’ Donkeys. Sunday 20th July starts with the Glenelly Valley Cycle, then the traditional family fun and sports day and also a Car Cruise. There will be a fancy dress parade at 4pm and we encourage you use your imagination! We finish on Sunday night with the Festival Grand Draw. There are 40 prizes up for grabs and some tickets are still available. Music will be provided by Lee Roy Brown Band. Volunteer Rota is on Festival Facebook page. Volunteers particularly required for Vintage event. Training continues on Thursday evening between 6.30 and 7.30 for the U6s, U8s, U10s boys and girls. The next blitz for U8s is scheduled for Sat 19th July; further details of the venue etc will be made available during the Tyrone Summer Camp week. Training for the U 12 girls is on Thursday commencing at 6.30pm. The club wish to thank Mc Crorys Pub for their hospitality during last weekend’s quiz night. Our final "25" Cards Night takes place on Saturday night in the Clubrooms at 9 PM. Everyone welcome. Draw Tickets and money to be collected in the Clubrooms on Tuesday nights 7.30 – 8.30. Anyone over 16 willing to do ASDA bag pack on 3rd August please contact Roisin Patton. Sympathies were expressed to Mc Grinder and Houston families on their recent bereavement. Please bring bottles/ prizes for bottle/ lucky dip stand to any festival committee member or leave in Plumbridge surgery.
