The men’s rearranged Monthly Meeting takes place this Sunday evening at 7.00pm and everyone is reminded to bring their bank details for Cairde Ghleann Eallaigh. Thanks to everyone who entered our Last Man Standing Fundraiser, your support is much appreciated. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates as the competition progresses. Many thanks to everyone who turned up for the Clubhouse Clean-Up last Saturday. Your efforts were very much appreciated. There will be a 25-Card Drive in Foncy Watts this Saturday night at 9.00PM. £3 per person includes supper, and all donations go to Club Funds. Everyone welcome. Many thanks to all who helped with the presentation event held in Gortin Community Centre last Sunday for the Both Domhnaigh Boys teams, particularly to the parents for helping with the refreshments, the Both Domhnaigh Scor Group for providing the music, Liam Nicholas as Guest Speaker and Foncy McConnell in preparing the DVDs. Our Biggest Loser competition began last Tuesday night. Anyone still wishing to join is welcome to come along for their weigh-in next Tuesday at 7.30 in Plumbridge Hall. Registration for all members takes place this Sunday 11.30 -1.00 at the Clubrooms and next Sunday 21st Feb in Cranagh hall from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm. Parents are reminded that ALL underage players must be registered for insurance purposes and the appropriate forms must be filled in. Failure to complete the proper registration forms will result in your child being unable to play football for Glenelly in 2016. As teams are gradually returning to train on the pitch, managers are respectfully asked to avoid those areas that have recently been repaired and that the Changing rooms are swept and cleaned after use. There will be a meeting this Sunday, 14th February in the clubrooms at 1.30 pm for all girls, along with their parents, wishing to play under 14s this year. All new members are welcome. All Croke Park tickets are asked to be returned to the club by 21st February to Eimear Donaghey. The annual 5.5 mile walk/run takes place this Sunday, 14th Feb at 12 noon, registration from 11.30. The run will be timed and refreshments will be provided afterwards. The Ulster Council have launched the Goldmark Volunteering Scheme for young people aged between 14 and 25 years. We are currently seeking someone within this age group to coordinate the scheme. If you are interested or would like to find out more information please contact Brenda Morris. Could all first aid kits please be returned to the club rooms this Sunday 14th between 11.30 am and 12.30 pm so that they can be restocked for the coming season. Training for minor girls continues at the usual time and yoga for senior ladies continues in Gortin hall on Fridays at 7.30 pm. The club would like to extend our sympathies to the McCullagh family on their recent loss.

There will be a presentation this Sunday (7 February) for all players (u13 to u18) who played for Both Domhnaigh in 2015, commencing at 5.30pm in Gortin Community Centre. The event will also provide an opportunity for parents to provide their view on the amalgamation. It would kindly appreciated if parents could assist with the provision of refreshments. We held our Annual Dinner Dance last Saturday night in The Fir Trees Hotel Strabane. The award winners were as follows. Ladies: Minor Player Of The Year- Orlaith Mc Cullagh. Most Improved – Aoife Mc Connell. Most Committed – Nicola Bradley and Elaine Doherty. Mothers & Others – Helen O Hagan. Senior Player of The Year – Fiona Marie Devlin. Club Person Of The Year – Brenda Morris. Special Awards were given to Paul Mc Gaughey and Noel O’Kane in recognition of their management achievements. Special Awards also to Gail Mc Bride, Mickey O Hagan and Pat Morris. Men’s Awards: Minor Player Of The Year – Eamonn Mc Connell. Most Improved Player of the Year – Barry Mc Cullagh. Reserve Player of the Year – Barry Mc Cullagh and Senior Player of the Year – Liam Nicholas. Club Person of the Year was shared by John Conway and Damien Mc Bride. The club are organising a Biggest Loser event that will commence next Tuesday night in Plumbridge Hall. Registration begins at 7.30 and the cost is £25 per person. If you are still suffering the excesses of over-indulging during the Christmas Period then come along to our weigh-ins. This programme will last for six weeks and the challenge is to shape up for Easter. Check out our Club website morrissbrenda as soon as possible. Club Membership is being collected in February and Members are asked to note carefully the following dates: Plumbridge – Sunday 14th 11.30 -12.30PM Cranagh – Sunday 21st 11.30-12.30PM Footballers – Friday 26th February 7-8PM. In preparation for the incoming season there will be a grounds clean-up next Saturday at 11.00AM and all members are asked to attend. Our monthly meeting take place next Sunday (Ladies 7.00PM Men -8.00PM) in Glenelly House and Committee Members are reminded to bring the relevant details in order to sign up to Cairde Ghleann Eallaigh. Anyone wishing to purchase a canvas of our successful 2015 Ladies Team or Reserve Team may contact our Club Secretaries Lucy or Eunan before Sunday evening as final orders are now being taken. Training continues this week for minor ladies and yoga continues in Gortin hall at 7.30 pm on Friday night. The club are hosting a 5.5 mile fun run on Sunday 14th Feb, registration at 11.30 with run commencing at 12 noon. Refreshments will be provided. We would like to thank all those who attended the St. Brigid’s Cross making on Sunday evening. The club would like to extend our sympathies to the McGrinder/Breslin family for their recent loss.

The Club’s Dinner dance will take place this Saturday in The Fir Trees Hotel. Music on the night by The Hootin’ Annies. There are a limited number of tickets left on sale. These are sure to sell out so buy early to avoid disappointment. For any queries, contact Dylan (07851812962). There will be a club clean up on Saturday 6th February at 11am. All help is greatly welcomed. It is intended to host a presentation event on Sunday 7th February (5:30pm) for the players of Both Domhnaigh from U 13 to U 18 – further details to be provided next week. There will be a meeting on Wed 27th Jan at 7 pm in the clubrooms at 6 pm for all girls intending to play minor football. There will be a meeting for U14 players on Friday. Parents are also asked to attend. The under 14 league commences on 6th March however a manager has yet to be appointed. Anyone interested in coaching this team is asked to contact a committee member or email their interest to glenellylgfc A FUNdamentals course is due to start shortly, on a Friday evening, with more details to follow. Yoga for ladies continues on Friday evenings at 7.30 pm in Gortin – all new members welcome. The next ladies committee meeting will be on 7th Feb at 6 pm in Glenelly House. There will be St. Brigid’s cross making this coming Sunday at 6.30 pm in the clubrooms, if possible please bring rushes but there will also be some provided. Irish language classes will begin in the coming weeks, anyone interested in taking part is asked to express their interest by contacting Maureen on 028 81648744.

Congratulations to Siobhan Sheerin who was named Gaelic Life Ulster Ladies Footballer of the year on Friday night. Congratulations also to Michaela Morris who received an Ulster Ladies Gaelic Football Post Primary School All Star Award. A coach is required to help with the Minor boys (U 18s). As the Minor League is starting in a few weeks and training is due to commence it is important we get someone in place as quickly as possible. First Committee Meetings of the year take place this Sunday evening at 6.00PM (Ladies) and 7.00PM (Men) Full turnout requested. Dinner Dance tickets need to be purchased by Sunday night at the latest to allow for Catering considerations. The ladies AGM took place on Friday 15th January. There are still a number of positions to be filled, anyone who is interested in joining the committee is asked to attend the next meeting which will take place on Sunday 24th January at 6pm. This is a great opportunity for those who have already expressed an interest in getting involved in the coaching of our U 6s U 8s and U 10s or indeed for anyone planning to get involved with coaching at some further point.
