The Seniors and Reserves have home fixtures against Rock on Sunday in the ACL. The games throw in at 2.15pm and 3.45pm. The Easter period was a busy time on the football front for both the Minor and U14 boys. The minors travelled to Urney on Wednesday last and collected two points with the home team failing to field. This week they have two home games; against Drumquin on Wednesday evening and Beragh on Friday. Both games begin at 7pm with players to be at the clubrooms at 6.30pm. The u14 team enjoyed success in two away fixtures over the weekend, defeating Aghyaran on Saturday and Castlederg on Monday. On Thursday they play in the Feile finals. Arrangements will be provided to parents when available. On Saturday they U14 team play Tattyreagh away. Transport leaving the clubrooms at 12 o clock. Training continues on Thursday evening for the U6s, U8s and U10s between 6.30pm and 7.30pm. The U 8s had their first outing of the season last Saturday in Urney playing Castlederg, Newtownstewart and Strabane. Many thanks to host Club Urney for their hospitality. The U10s have a blitz this Saturday 26 April; details of venue etc to be provided at training on Thursday. Finally, congratulations to Omagh CBS Dalton Cup Team in their victory over St Colman’s Newry in the Final on Thursday and in particular to Rory Kennedy, Cormac McBride and Aodhan McConnell. The seniors and reserves have away fixtures against Tattyreagh in Round 2 of the ACL on Saturday. The games throw in at 3.30pm and 5pm. Both sides suffered narrow defeats away to Errigal Ciaran on Sunday. The minors are away to Urney on Wednesday night at 6.45pm. The minors recorded wins over Clann na Gael and Drumragh last week. The U14s are away to Aghyaran on Saturday at 10.30am and have another away fixture against Castlederg on Monday at 6.45pm. The U10 boys had their first Go-Games outing of the season last Saturday playing against hosts Gortin, Greencastle and Drumquin; many thanks to Gortin for their hospitality. The U8s have their first blitz this Saturday 19 April in Urney commencing at 10.30am. Further details including time of departure to be provided at training on Thursday evening which this week commences at 6.00pm and finishes at 7.00pm. Ticket Distribution has already begun and so far the response has been very heartening. Anyone who has still to collect their ticket allocation is asked to do so as soon as possible. There’s little more than twelve weeks to the Development draw, so it’s time to get moving. There will be two further nights of ticket distribution on Friday night (8.30-9.30) and Tuesday evening (8.30pm to 9.30pm). A big thank you to everyone who helped in last Saturday’s clean-up. Could we ask each team manager to oversee that the clubrooms are left neat and tidy after each training session/match. The GAA is setting up a National Youth Council and is looking for young people aged between 15 – 19 who are interested in volunteering- please contact Laurence McCullagh for details. The league gets underway on Sunday for the seniors and reserves with two away games against Errigal Ciaran at 2.15pm and 3.45pm. The minors defeated Clann na Gael on Tuesday and have an away fixture against Drumragh on Friday night at 6.45pm. On Wednesday 16th April the minors are away to Urney. The U14s have an away fixture against Aghyaran on Tuesday 15th April. Transport arrangements will be provided at training. The Club Development Draw will launch on Monday night at 7.30pm in the clubrooms. We extend an invitation to all members to attend and to make a special effort in making this draw as successful as possible. Vetting Forms to be completed by all sub-committee members and returned on Friday night at 7.30pm in the clubrooms. A Fun Quiz will be held in Peter Watt’s on Friday night at 10pm – All club members are encouraged to attend this fund-raiser. There will be a Clubhouse Clean-Up on Saturday 12th April at 1pm- please bring cleaning equipment. The club are hoping to organise a First-Aid Course/ Defibrilator Training Course in the very near future. Anyone interested please contact Club Secretary to enrol. Could managers please return their enrolment forms so Registrars can verify club memberships. The club would like to thank the volunteers that helped out with laying the concrete at the club grounds on Saturday. The Car parking area and entrance to the clubrooms is closed until 12th April to facilitate surface upgrading. Pedestrian access is available via the path way to enter clubrooms. More volunteers are required for the second concrete pour taking place this Saturday- please contact Ciaran Kearney on 07920832397 if you are available. The minors played Gortin on Tuesday evening. The U14s are away to Drumquin on Friday evening for a 6.45pm throw in.
The next committee meeting takes place on Monday 7th April at 8pm. The ladies meeting take place beforehand. A registration night for all u6, u8 and u10 players, girls and boys takes place this Thursday evening in the clubrooms at 7PM. Can parents please come along to register their children. The club are running a bus to the Tyrone V Dublin National League in Healy Park Omagh this Sunday. Children and parents are invited to attend. You can register on Thursday evening at the registration night or in Sean McCullagh’s shop. Fare £3 per child. Children will get the opportunity to meet the players after the game on the pitch. The bus will be supervised. The bus will be leaving the clubrooms at 1.45pm.
This week NiAccess Forms will be distributed to all committee members, and completed forms must be returned by 7.00PM on Friday 11th April to the clubrooms. The Clubhouse Clean-up has been postponed. Medical Bags must be returned to Clubrooms as soon as possible. Match Schedules in Clubrooms -Team Managers please fill in – will lead to confusion if not done so.
A Fundraising quiz takes place in Peter Watt’s Pub Plumbridge on Friday night 11th April. The Festival Draw will be launched in Clubrooms on Friday 11th April. Players and committee members to form into groups of threes in preparation for launch. It is hoped that everyone associated with Glenelly GFC will play his/her part in making this draw as successful as possible. The 10th year of Glenelly’s Rockin’ by the River festival runs this year from 13th July until the 20th July more details to follow in the coming weeks. Next festival meeting will be 28th April 2014 @ 7.45pm. Ladies Under 12/10/8s starts on Wednesday 2nd April, notices are being sent round the primary schools, everyone welcome, please bring gum shields and water with training starting at 6pm and over at 7pm.

Training for the U14 team will be on Wednesday evening next week at 6.30pm due to the minor game on Tuesday.

Parents are also requested to attend so that all necessary child protection forms etc. may be completed. The purpose of the workshop is to develop a 5 year strategic Club plan to map the future direction of our club. It is really important everyone comes to along to have your say in our future. Well done to the U14 team who opened their league campaign with a single point win over Castlederg on a scoreline of Glenelly 4-5 Castlederg 3-7. This week they are at home to Tattyreagh at 1pm. All players to be at the clubrooms at 12.30pm. The minor game last week against Beragh was postponed due to handball. There is no game this week because of the MacRory Cup final on Monday. Training for the U14 team will continue on Tuesday evenings at the earlier time of 6.30pm and the Minors will train on Wednesdays at 7pm. The minor game away to Drumragh has been re-fixed for Friday 11th April.

All players to be at the clubrooms at 2.15pm- Please note the change of time and venue for this fixture. The minors play Beragh also at home at 4pm. All players to be at the clubrooms at 3.30pm.
