The Seniors and Reserves have home fixtures against Drumragh on Sunday. Senior game at 2.15pm, Reserve at 3.45pm. Minors play Aghyaran in Urney on Thursday evening at 7.30pm in the league semi-final. Unfortunately the U16s were defeated in their 1st League Game by Strabane 3.14 to 1.12. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30pm for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. The U 10s had a blitz last Saturday hosted by Eskra; many thanks to the Eskra Club for their hospitality. As the Seniors are playing at home on Sunday it is hoped to have our 7-10 year olds play at the half time interval of the Senior Game on Sunday; children wishing to play to be at the clubrooms for 2.15pm. Ladies matches begin again on the 10th July, training continues on Wednesday at 7.45pm. Training for our Under-16 girls will continue this Sunday evening at 6.00pm in Plumbridge. We are currently appealing to parents and coaches to please step forward and help out with our U-12s girls team – please contact Lucy or Declan ASAP. The Forms for the Pig Race will be released this week and we ask everyone to make a special effort to sell their few lines as the Club urgently requires funding at this time – this is our only major fund-raiser to date this year. Next festival committee meeting will be the 6th of July where any volunteers for this year’s festival are asked to attend this information-filled evening at 8pm. Anyone interested in helping with hospitality for this year’s festival is asked to get in touch with Dolores or Lucy asap. If anyone has any ideas or proposals to raise funds for the club over the festival period, then we want to see you at this meeting on July 6th. Please make a special effort to attend. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30 for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. Ladies Under 14 championship postponed until September. We would like to thank those who came along to the Clubhouse clean-up last Monday evening. A terrific job well done. Sympathy is extended to the family of Patricia Coyle’s father, Eddie (Curran) from Strabane, who sadly passed away last weekend.

The Seniors and Reserves both had wins against Fintona on Sunday. There are no fixtures this weekend. Ladies match this weekend is postponed due to championship first round, training continues on Wednesday at 7.45pm. Training for our Under-16 girls will continue this Sunday evening at 6.00PM in Plumbridge. We are currently appealing to parents and coaches to please step forward and help out with our U-12s and U-16 ladies teams – please contact lucy or Declan ASAP. Thanks to all those who attended the festival launch on Monday in Leo’s. The Seniors and Reserves have home fixtures against Fintona on Sunday. Senior game at 2.15pm, Reserve 3.45pm. Seniors drew with Brackaville last week while reserves lost out by a point. Senior ladies had a good win over Aghyaran at the weekend their and next match will be the weekend of 27th timing tbc. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30 for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. The U 8s next blitz is on Saturday 20 June; details of venue etc to be confirmed at training on Thursday. It is planned to have our 7-10 year olds play at the half time interval of the Men’s Senior Game on Sunday; children wishing to play to be at the clubrooms for 2.15pm. The U 10s played in their blitz last Saturday hosted by Glenelly. It was a great occasion with teams travelling from Cookstown, Tattyreagh, Kildress, Clan Na Gael, Drumquin, Gortin and Greencastle. Many thanks to all who helped make it a great success. Particular thanks to the referees, the videographer, the photographer and the parents for providing and organising the refreshments. Unfortunately the minors were defeated by a strong Aghyaran team in the Championship QF on Friday night. League quarter final away to Cookstown on Thursday night. Transport leaving changing rooms at 6.15pm. Would U-16 ladies please note change of time for training to begin this weekend in Plumbridge – Sunday 21st June at 6.00PM. Under 16’s girls league will begin on August 1st and we are still seeking coaches and managers to look after our U-12s and U-16s. Please contact Lucy immediately. The under-14 girls final will take place shortly. Anyone who wishes to erect bunting, decorate the gates etc. in preparation for this event is welcome to do so. In conjunction with our Festival launch in Leo’s on Monday night, we are launching our first major fund-raiser of the season. One of our main events on the Sunday Sports Day will be "Live Pig-Racing" so we are asking all club members to sell a few lines to ensure that this is a very successful venture. Anyone wishing to join our Glenelly GFC Fundraising Committee is very welcome to come to a short meeting in the Clubrooms on Sunday evening at 7.30PM. A Mini-Festival launch will take place 22nd June at 7.30pm in Leo’s, followed by a festival meeting.

The Seniors and Reserves have away fixtures against Brackaville on Sunday. Senior game at 2.15pm, Reserve 3.45pm. Both sides had wins over Aghaloo on Saturday. The senior ladies also defeated Sperrin Og on Saturday. Minor training on Wednesday at 8pm in Gortin. Full turnout required with Championship QF on Friday evening against Aghyaran in Gortin at 7.30pm. Glenelly GFC would like to wish the U-14 girls and their management the very best of luck in their forthcoming final against Clonoe. All support welcome. Any girls who wish to play U-12 football this season are invited to a short meeting in the clubrooms on Friday evening at 7 o clock. A special word of thanks to our youth committee members and our “stars of the future” who have provided such first class entertainment during the half-time games. If there are any U-8s or U-10s who would like to take part in these games please contact Fergal McAneney or any member of the Youth committee as soon as possible. The Club would like to thank everyone who has helped clean up the Committee rooms, changing rooms and surrounding grounds. Our first big fundraiser of the season will get underway shortly in the form of Pig-Racing. Keep an eye on Facebook for further information. The Seniors and Reserves have home fixtures on Saturday against Aghaloo. Senior game at 3pm, Reserve 4.30pm. Senior Ladies are at home to Sperrin Og at 7.30pm on Saturday evening. Senior Ladies drew with Clann na Gael last week. The U 14 Girls reached the final of the Grade II Championship having defeated Strabane in the semi-final. They now play Clonoe in the final which is provisionally scheduled for the 13 June; details of venue etc to be confirmed in due course. Meanwhile training continues for the U 14 girls on Tuesdays at 6.45pm and on Thursdays at 6.30pm. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30 for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. The U 8s next blitz is on Saturday 6 June; details of venue etc to be confirmed at training on Thursday. The U 10 boys played in their blitz last Saturday which was hosted by Clan Na Gael; many thanks to the host Club for their hospitality. There will be a meeting on Friday night at 7pm for all under 16 ladies who wish to play this year. It is vital that all eligible players attend this meeting as insufficient numbers will mean that we cannot enter an U-16 team this season. Glenelly Ladies are inviting anyone who would like to manage our 12s or U-16s to contact Lucy or Declan as soon as possible. Our Ladies monthly meeting takes place this Sunday at 5.00PM followed by the Men’s meeting at 6.00PM. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30 for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. Glenelly hosted the U 8 blitz last Saturday with teams from Clan Na Gael, Drumquin, Gortin and Greencastle taking part. Many thanks to the parents (for organising the hospitality), the match referees and all who helped organise and make it a very enjoyable occasion. The U 10s have a blitz this Saturday (30 May); details of venue etc. to be provided at training on Thursday. The Seniors and Reserves both recorded wins away to Drumquin on Saturday. There are no adult fixtures this weekend. The Senior Ladies had a comfortable win over Strabane Sigersons on Thursday night. Minors played Tattyreagh away on Tuesday night. U14s lost out to Ardboe in the league quarter finals on Saturday. The next ladies committee meeting takes place on Sunday 7th June at 5pm before men’s. The club extends our sincere sympathies to the families of Seamus Harley and Frank McElvanna (Madden).

The Seniors and Reserves have away fixtures against Drumquin on Sunday. Senior game 2.15pm, Reserve 3.45pm. Unfortunately the U14s were defeated 3.8 to 3.6 in their Championship Preliminary Round v Cookstown on Saturday. They played Beragh in their final league match winning 9.9 to 3.6. The league quarter final away to Ardboe takes place on Saturday at 1pm. All support appreciated! Training continues on Thursday at 6.30 for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. The U 8s have a blitz this Saturday (23 May); details of venue etc. to be provided at training on Thursday. The U10s had a very enjoyable blitz last Saturday in Kildress playing Eglish, Clan Na Gael, Greencastle, Ardboe in addition to the host Club. Many thanks to the Kildress Club for their hospitality. It is the responsibility of Parents/Guardians to complete the Parental Registration form including any medical history and inform the relevant coaches. Parents/Guardians not wishing their child to be included in team photos, videos, etc must state this when completing the form. U14s continued their league programme away to Pomeroy on Tuesday night. U14 Championship will take place on Saturday away to Cookstown – Time TBC. The final U14 league game is on Monday 18th May at home v Beragh at 7.30pm. All players in Glenelly for 7pm. Minors will be taking a break from training for a few weeks. Seniors and Reserves both recorded wins on Sunday. The senior ladies defeated Donaghmore 4.13 1.01. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30 for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. The U 10s have a blitz this Saturday (16 May); details of venue etc. to be provided at training on Thursday. There will be another chance to register your child for this season after training. Membership is £10 per child. Well done to our young players who played (under terrible weather conditions) during the half time interval of last Sunday’s senior game. The Seniors and Reserves have home fixtures on Sunday against Owen Roes. Senior game 2.15pm, Reserve 3.45pm. Senior team defeated Errigal Ciaran last week while the Reserves lost out. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30 to 7.30 for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. There is no blitz this weekend due to First Holy Communion. However, similar to last Sunday, which was a great success, the Club plans to have our underage players play a game during the half time interval of the next Sundays Senior Game; further details will be provided at training. Monthly Committee Meeting takes place next Monday evening (11th)at 8.00PM. The club would like to thank the organisers and the U-8s and 10s children who provided the match entertainment during the half-time break last Sunday. It was a delight to watch Glenelly stars of the future in action. Would anyone willing to become involved in the serving of the food or in organising a Half-Time Draw please contact any Committee member as soon as possible – your help would be very much appreciated.
