Minors had an excellent win over strabane on Tuesday night. Seniors and Reserves have away fixtures against Drumquin on Sunday. Senior game 2.15pm, Reserve 3.45pm. The reserves continued their promising start to the season with a draw against Killyman. The seniors lost by 3 points. Senior ladies will kick off their season away to Dromore on Friday night. Training continues on Thursday at 6.30 to 7.30 for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls); all players welcome. The U 8s had their first blitz of the season last Saturday with Dan & Joe Mullan, Corey Patton, Joseph Coyle and Mark Kennedy all making their debut for Glenelly. They had games against Tattyreagh, Drumquin and host Club Greencastle; many thanks to Greencastle for their hospitality. The U10s have their second blitz this Saturday (25 April); details of venue and travel arrangements to be confirmed at training on Thursday. Sean McConnell and Eddie McCullagh are the 2 remaining competitors in the club’s Last Man Standing fundraiser. The u14s will continue their League Campaign with an away game to Dromore on Saturday 25th April at 11am. All players in Dromore for 10.30am. Festival meeting 30th April at 7.30pm in Glenelly house where vetting will be carried out for all volunteers in this year’s festival. Seniors and Reserves are away to Killyman on Sunday. Seniors- 4.30pm, Reserves- 6pm. The Reserves defeated Castlederg on Saturday while the Senior game ended in a draw. Upcoming Fixtures for Both Domhnaigh: Tuesday 14th April Minors away to Fintona at 7pm. Wednesday 15th April U14s away to Kildress at 7pm. Saturday 18th April U14s home to Drumragh at 11am. All players in Gortin for 10.30am. Tyrone GAA summer camp dates for Glenelly 17th – 20th August. Thanks to Martin McGurk of MMC Refrigeration and Liam Molloy of Express Cooling who each sponsored a set of Club Jerseys. Their contributions were very much appreciated. The official handover took place at half-time last Sunday. Congratulations to Finnian Devlin who won the Half-Time Draw at last Sunday’s match. Thanks to the ticket sellers who made this event possible. The Cow-Pat Competition date has been set for Sunday 31st May and tickets will soon be on sale. The U 10s had their first blitz of the season last Saturday playing against the hosts Castlederg, Clan Na Gael and Owen Roes. Many thanks to Castlederg for their hospitality. The U8s have their first blitz this Saturday (18 April) most likely to be held in Tattyreagh; confirmation and further details to be provided at training on Thursday. A catering rota is now being made out for all Adult players for Senior and Reserve games and will shortly appear in the Club changing rooms. Each player will be expected to nominate one match day fixture in order to provide food. The committee would ask that all teams leave the changing rooms in a neat and tidy state after each use – do not leave it to others to clean up after you. The Club would like to express our sincere condolences to the family of Sister Mary Brigid Carolan (formerly of Glenchiel) who has passed away in Scotland.

The Seniors and Reserves commence their league campaigns at home on Sunday against Castlederg. Senior game at 2.15pm, Reserve 3.45pm. Well done to the minors who defeated Beragh on a scoreline 6.10 to 3.15 on Tuesday. They train again on Thursday at 8pm in Plumbridge. The U14s have a game on Wednesday at 6.45pm v Beragh. The Club would like to thank everyone who participated in the clean-up last Saturday afternoon. Your efforts were very much appreciated. Thanks also to everyone who helped organise, attended, or bought tickets for the Film Evening in Plumbridge Hall last Sunday evening. It was certainly a very novel idea, and hopefully this will be the first of many such ventures. We are hoping to welcome ou Under-Age Players to take part in an exhibition Match during the Half-Time interval of our Senior Game this weekend. Please come along and cheer on the “Glenelly Stars of the future!” They will really appreciate your support. Contact Fergal McAneney for further details. Also we hope to initiate a Half-Time Draw during the proceedings, and your support would be very welcome. With the introduction of the Match Clock we are now inviting offers of interest from anyone wishing to purchase prime advertising space above and below our scoreboard area – this would be for a two-year period. There will be a short but very important meeting for ALL youth Coaches next Sunday evening at 6.00PM in the Clubhouse. It is essential that all coaches should attend. We are currently looking for someone to represent the Club as a senior referee for Ladies Matches. It is vital that Glenelly GFC has a representative in this field. Both Domhaigh minors and U 14 are both playing this week. The minors are away to Tattyreagh on Tuesday evening. Transport leaving the clubrooms at 5.45pm sharp. Please note that this fixture may be changed. If this is the case parents will be informed by text. Parents are asked to assist with transport. Our refixed 14 game against Beragh is down for next is now on Wednesday 8th April in Beragh at 6:45pm. The U14s will train on Wednesday in Gortin as usual at 6:30pm. We play Pomeroy next Saturday in Plumbridge at 11am. Please note that the U14 Feile is scheduled for Saturday 11th April. More details will be provided when available. Training for the Club’s U6-10 players begins on Thursday 9th April. All new players welcome. Anyone wishing to have their business advertised through club hoardings are asked to contact John Conway. Current price is £200 for 2 years. There will be a Club grounds tidy up on Saturday @ 1pm. If volunteers could bring brushes and shovels it would be greatly appreciated. Many Hands make light work! Croke Park requires everyone to be registered by March 31st. In order to get the registration process completed before then we need to have all membership collected before that date. The last membership collection for this year will be Sunday 29th March at 12:30 in the clubrooms. For Club Maith purposes all members need to complete an application form and sign appropriate Codes of conducts. Anyone who has yet to return their vetting form may do so on Friday evening at 7.00PM sharp in the clubrooms. This is your last opportunity to be vetted for 2015 season. Well done to the u14s who defeated Dromore on Saturday on scoreline of 10.4 to 4.4. Their next game is on Saturday 28th March at 11am in Beragh. Minors next league game is on Tuesday 31st March away to Tattyreagh TBC. They have a friendly on Wednesday at 8pm in Greencastle. All players to be there for 7.30pm. Next Committee meeting Monday 30th March at 8pm. Thank you to the collectors and all who contributed to the Irish Language Collection. Glenelly GFC with the support of a Coach from the Ulster GAA are hosting a coaching workshop on Saturday 28 March for all coaches involved with the U6s, U8s and U 10s boys and girls. The workshop commences at 9.00am (on the pitch) finishing at around 10.30. The Club would encourage parents also to attend as the workshop provides a great opportunity for any parent wishing to get involved in developing and progressing their child’s football skills. The minors played out a 4-7 to 3-10 draw with Owen Roes on Saturday. The u14s unfortunately were defeated on a scoreline of 8-7 to 5-8 by Drumragh also on Saturday. Anyone wishing to complete a 2015 Vetting form is asked to attend the Clubrooms at 7.00PM sharp as this will be the last opportunity for Coaches and Mentors to complete the necessary documentation. It is Club Policy that all adults, who intend to coach, or work with, our children, must be vetted and this will be strictly adhered to. Training for the U6s, U8s and U 10s boys and girls will commence on Thursday 9 April at 6.30 and not the 26 March as previously reported; all new faces welcome. Senior ladies have an away friendly to carryduff Sunday 22nd March at 4pm. Training on wed at 7.45pm for senior and minor girls, 7pm on fri night also. U14s boys fixture away to Drumragh on Saturday at 11am. Congratulations to the U14s who got their league campaign off to a good start with a 9.10 to 5.9 victory over Kildress. The minors unfortunately lost their 1st league game with a 3.12 to 3.7 defeat by Aghyaran. They play Owen Roes away on Saturday 14th at 1.45pm. Minor training continues on Thursday at 8pm in Plumbridge. There will be a sponsored Football day for the amalgamated teams of Badoney, running from 1-5pm on Sunday (15th) in Gortin. Any player who has not received a sponsorship form should contact Foncy McConnell. Membership for all players currently playing football should be paid before 31st March. Coaching for Under 6-10 boys and girls will commence on Thursday 26th March. Gumshields must be worn by all players in both matches & training at all times. No Gumshield, No Game. No Exceptions. Training for minor and senior girls Wednesday at 7.45pm and then senior ladies again on Friday night at 7pm. Badoney Minor team continued their preparation for the beginning of the League with a game against Omagh last weekend and play Dromore on Wednesday evening. On Sunday 8th March at 3.30pm they begin their league campaign with a home game in Gortin. All players to be at the changing rooms by 3pm. The refixed minor game against Owen Roes is now on Saturday 14th March at 5pm. The Under 14 team played Claudy Co Derry on Saturday past and their first league game is on Saturday 7th March with a home game against Kildress in Glenelly at 11am. All players to be at the changing rooms at 10.30am. There will be a Youth Committee Meeting on Saturday 7 March at 6.00pm in the Clubrooms. The meeting is open to all coaches involved / wanting to get involved in the coaching of our youth teams (boys & girls) including Both Domhnaigh. Festival meeting changed Monday 9th March at 7.30pm.
