Seniors and Reserves return to league action away to Owen Roes on Sunday. Reserves 2.15pm and Seniors 3.45pm. Well done to the senior ladies who defeated Clan na nGael on Saturday evening in a tough encounter. Training continues on Wednesday evenings at 8 pm. Second round of the championship takes place against Errigal Ciaran this Monday 25th July in Killyclogher with a 7.30 pm throw in, all support welcome. The seniors are also away to Omagh St. Enda’s in a league fixture next Fridayevening, time to be confirmed. Training continues for under 16 girls on Monday and Thursday evenings at 7.30 pm. The under 12 girls have training on Tuesday evenings at 7pm in Plumbridge. Training for mothers and others continues on a Monday evening from 7-8 pm. Due to the Tyrone Summer Camp being held this week there will be no training on Thursevening for the U6s, U8s & U 10s. The U8s have a blitz this weekend; further details will be provided at the Tyrone Summer Camp on Thursday. The Club are asking Aisling Mc Connell, whose Pig won our recent Funday Sunday Porkchop Derby, to contact any Committee Member in order to claim her rightful prize money. Sincere thanks to everyone who braved the elements during last weekend’s Funday Sunday in Plumbridge. Your help and support for this fund-raising venture was very much appreciated. Congratulations to the various winners of our Pig Racing event, generously sponsored by Martina Furey of Glenview Fast Food, Gortin.Well done to "Helen And The Handbags" who won our ever-popular Treasure Hunt. Attention now turns to our Glenelly Golf Classic that will take place in Newtownstewart on Saturday 10th September. For further details contact Damien Harkin or Eamonn Mc Cullagh. Our Jigs & Reels lessons will commence in early August, so time is running out to sign up for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. If you would still like to enter, then please add your name to the list in the Clubrooms. Remember, this event is open to everyone of all ages, and of all shapes and sizes, so if you’re looking for a bit of craic then this is the event for you! We are still accepting new members to our Cairde Ghleann Eallaigh so if you would like to join then please contact any committee member as soon as possible.Every penny raised will go towards the provision and development of facilities for the youth of Glenelly.There will be a Men’s Committee Meeting on Monday night at 8.00PM in the Clubrooms. Training continues on Thursday evening 6.30pm to 7.30pm for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls).The under 12 girls have a match this Thursday evening in Owen Roes. All roads lead to Glenelly St Joseph’s Grounds, Plumbridge this weekend for our Annual Sunday Funday Event. There’s lots of entertainment on show – it all kicks off at 1.00PM with Traditional Sports and a Treasure Hunt. As well as the usual side events there will be Jiving Lessons and Pig Racing where fortunes might be won – or lost. Children are advised to dress in appropriate sports gear on the day. The committee are issuing a special request for helpers to come along at 2.00PM on Saturday to prepare the Clubhouse and Grounds for our Sunday events. Also additional help will be needed to help run events on Sunday afternoon . Why not volunteer your services; it would be very much appreciated. In addition to our list of Sunday events, we are running a small draw on the day, and prizes will include two tickets to the Ulster Final, and a signed Tyrone Jersey. The tickets are only £2 each, or a book of 3 for a fiver. Glenelly St Joseph’s are seeking individuals or businesses who would like to sponsor our Pig-Racing event on Funday Sunday. In return for your investment your business will be given photographic and lots of live coverage on the day. Please contact any Committee member as soon as possible. Well done to Siobhan Sheerin and the Tyrone ladies who won the intermediate Ulster Championship last Sunday. Best of luck to Maria O’Hagan and the Tyrone under 16s who play Louth in the All Ireland semi-final in Inishkeen, Co. Monaghan on 13th July at 7pm. If anyone would like to donate any new/used items such as football jerseys, presents, toys etc that are in a good condition to a stall for the Family fun-day could they please leave these in the clubrooms between 7 and 8pm this Friday or between 2-3 pm on Saturday. Pigs are now on sale for our Glenelly Pork-Chop Derby that will form part of our Funday Sunday events on Sunday 10th July. All Committee Members and Senior Players have been issued with Race Cards and we would ask that everyone sell their quota. If you haven’t yet received your card, or if there is anyone who feels that he/she could sell a few extra pigs, then please contact Damien, John or Declan immediately. Alternatively if you would like to sponsor the event then please contact any committee member as soon as possible. All money raised will go towards the day-to-day running costs of the Club and Clubhouse. There will be a joint Committee Meeting next Monday night at 8.30PM in the Clubrooms. The main item on the agenda will be our Funday SundayPreparations and all committee members are expected to attend.Training continues on Thursday evening 6.30pm to 7.30pm for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls). Hi all we are distributing the Pig Racing Cards on Thursday evening (23rd June) at 6.30PM in the Clubrooms. As this is potentially a major fund raiser for the club we would appreciate if you would take one card per family and sell your ten pigs as quickly as possible.

Well done to the senior ladies who defeated Sperrin Og on Saturday evening after a very competitive game. Training continues of Wednesday evening at 8 pm. The girls face Cappagh this Friday 17th June at 8.15 pm in the preliminary round of the Championship in Drumragh. Well done to the mothers and others who hosted Drumragh and Saval for a blitz on Sunday morning. Training continues for this team on Monday evenings. The under 12s have a Go-games fixture against neighbours Clann na nGael on Thursday 16th June at 7pm in Plumbridge. Whilst attention is now focused on raising funds for the Club we would like to extend a Cead Mile Failte to any new members of Cairde Ghleann Eallaigh who have joined us recently. There are still a few spaces for our Jigs & Reels that is scheduled for mid-October and we are making a special appeal to some of the footballing fraternity to don their dancing shoes and step up to the mark. Well done to our U 8s and U 10s who took part in the mini-game during the half time interval of the Men’s Senior Game last Sunday. The U 10s have a blitz this Saturday; details of venue etc to be provided at training. The Club wish to extend congratulations to the P7 children of St Peter’s Primary School in reaching the finals of the Cumann na mBunscol Tyrone and to wish them all the best in the finals which take place on the 15th June in Garvaghey. The Tyrone Summer Camp takes place on the 18th to 21st July and is open to all children between 5 and 14 years of age. The senior ladies were unfortunately defeated by a very strong Errigal Ciaran side on Sunday evening. They will now play Sperrin Og this Saturday at 7pm in Greencastle. Training for mothers and others continues on Monday evenings at 7pm. Congratulations to Patricia-Anne and Stephen Murray on the birth of their baby girl Catherine. Training for seniors continues at the regular times. The under 14s will play St Macartan’s this Thursday, 2nd June in Plumbridge at 7pm in the preliminary round of the Championship. Training continues on Thursday evening 6.30pm to 7.30pm for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls). More support is required from parents particularly with regard to the coaching of the U6s. The U8s have a blitz this Saturday; further details to be provided at training. It is also hoped to have our U 8s & U 10s play at half time of the Men’s Senior Game this weekend; again further details to be provided at training. Congratulations to the Senior Ladies squad of 2015 who were awarded Team of the Year in the Derry City and Strabane District Council sports awards hosted in the Everglades last week. Training continues on Thursday evening 6.30pm to 7.30pm for all U6s, U8s and U 10s (boys and girls). More support is required from parents particularly with regard to the coaching of the U6s. The U10s have a blitz this Saturday; further details to be provided at training. Hard luck to the minor and under 14 girls who were defeated in last week’s fixtures. The minor girls will play Cooktown Fr. Rocks, this Saturday 21st May in Plumbridge at 5pm. There are no under 14 fixtures this week. The senior ladies take on St Macartan’s on Wednesday night, 18th May in Plumbridge at 7 pm. Training continues at usual on Friday night and Sunday. Hard luck to Ann McGarvery and Aoife McConnell who were part of the Tyrone minor panel who were unfortunately beaten by Armagh in the Ulster Final. The Club are organising a Monster Bingo Session in St Pat’s Hall Strabane on Friday 27th May at 9.00PM. There will be £3,500 in prizes and your support would be very welcome. Our Cairde Membership is continuing to grow and we would appeal to anyone who would still like to join to contact any Committee member as soon as possible. With our ambitious plans to acquire a new playing and training area for the benefit of all our youth within our community, we would urge all those Glenelly players, both past and present, parents, family members and supporters to support this very worthwhile venture. As part of our Festival Festivities pencilled in for mid-July, we are urging anyone with ideas and who would like to help out in any way to contact any Committee member as soon as possible. Also, we are still looking for a few more volunteers to take part in our Jigs&Reels Extravaganza that will take place in Strabane on the weekend of 21st-22nd October. This will be a fun filled event that is open to everyone to participate- you dont have to be a member of Glenelly St Joseph’s to take part.
